The Donald Richard Gavagan Fund
for Project Kids Worldwide

The Donald Richard Gavagan Fund was set up in his memory when he died in the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001. His wife, Jacqueline, established this fund with Project Kids Worldwide because of her association with co-founder Dr. Stephen Colvin who had performed, only six months earlier, life saving heart surgery on one of their infant twins, Donald III. Fifty-two days after the tragic events, October 23, 2001, Jacqueline gave birth to their third child, Connor. On that special day when he was born, the family stared once again into the eyes they all missed so much; he looked just like his father. Although they were all saddened by the fact that Donald never saw his baby's face, they all wanted to believe that Donald was the first one to see his face and the first one to hold him in heaven before his entrance here. Donald's sister commented, "Big Donald smiled that day, I can just see him now."

The Donald Richard Gavagan Fund is designed to give life back to the world by saving a child with congenital heart disease. " I really want to make a difference," said Jacqueline. " The only way I can do this is to sponsor a child." Today Jacqueline is helping to repair the heart of a child from Kosovo (see OUR CHILDREN for complete story). This will be the first of many children identified by Project Kids Worldwide that she will help. If you would like to join Jacqueline in remembering those who tragically lost their lives, now is your opportunity to save a life.
