Dennis W. Schwesinger, Director, Program and Research Development,
Cardiac and Vascular Center of NYU School of Medicine, is a veteran
health care administrator, medical engineer and innovator with over
three decades of experience worldwide. Some of his contributions of
medical technology include patents in life support systems, a book
on pulmonary diagnostic technologies, editorships of international
medical-technical journals, and international lecturships. He was
also involved in one of the initial studies validating B-mode imaging
as a screening tool for stroke prevention. Throughout his career he
has held senior leadership positions in major academic medical centers.
Mr. Schwesinger is personally dedicated to providing healthcare for
children in need throughout the world. He developed a city school
based healthcare system for children in underserved areas of Los Angeles.
His patents have been used to engineer life support systems to sustain
newborns with distressed breathing. Currently he has been instrumental
in the creation of several non-profit organizations supporting children's
health issues and is co-founder of Project Kids Worldwide.
